Management literature has systematically run down the concept& role of a Manager by painting 'Manager' as a villain. Bipolar..everything right of virtue,values,process or style belongs to the Leader. Everything that is wrong, deficient or falling short in style is dumped on to the 'Red Corner' of the poor Manager. The fact is that no Leadership role can be devoid of Managerial responsibilities and unless Managerial responsibilities are performed well, leadership may not actually be able to create the impact that it desires. Leadership & Management are integrated..in reality a composite whole. Dominance of one element over the other may happen person to person basis
