Let us Manufacture 'Luck'

We somehow started believing that Luck is something which brings you those aspirational bounties undeservedly, suddenly without having worked for it. If you really sat down to analyse the so imagined lucky people in your set of the 'enviables', you will conclude that your belief was unrealistic. When you simply take more shots at the problem, your probability to experience 'luck' gets higher. Logically therefore lucky people are lucky because they directly expose themselves p

'Patanjali' and the Maverick Baba 'Consumer' Ramdev ji

Move over....Coca-Cola/Pepsi, HLL /Nirma, LG /Sony, Apple/Samsung . The new challenger war for consumer share in the market is multipronged. The bumptious and ubiquitous 'Patanjali' attacking the giants ITC , Colgate and Nestlé all with their herbal substitutes, at the same time. The coffee-chats are now about the new marketing genius on the horizon, the Maverick Yoga Guru - Baba Ramdev ! Don't be too shocked and surprised to see him someday addressing Harvard on strategic pl

ADA leads to PAP..

Analysis is very critical. But under acute torture , data lies. You rely on such analysis at your peril. Adverse Data Analysis could lead to Positive Action Paralysis. Wise know how to manage implications of data. Fools rely on it blindfolded. #CorporateEngagement

Twin Plans - Train & Engage

What a brilliant thought...positive work places TRAIN to ensure Efficiency & Employability and ENGAGE to ensure Motivation & Retainability. That way you would be a winner through and through !!! You TRAIN for Employability and to build Capability. You will thus not feel guilty to let go of your People when markets are low and business down-scales. They would be ready and employable. At the same time, Training would ensure that the People who continue with you are competent

Those who Master the Banal are sure-shots the Winner !!!

This might sound very different and hard to digest. But it is a fact that we generally fail because we tend to avoid learning thru the Banal. Banal is hackneyed. Banal is not exciting, not smart, insipid, not interesting. Rather tripe. An apple a day may keep the doctor away but eating an apple hardly seems to be on anyone's priority list. Forget the outliers and the lottery winners. They are different. But if you otherwise analyse lives of people who are successful (I mean s

Living In a World of Constant Consonance.

This is based on my Coaching experiences. Let me share and hope it would help. The theory is simple. We all live in a state of 'Consonance'. Consonance means a balance between corresponding sounds. This state of constant equanimity is caused by precariously balancing the 'Affirmative Vectors' with the 'Negative Vectors'. We all need to maximise our value whilst managing this dynamic Consonance. 'Affirmative Vectors' represent 'Influencing Vibrations' that touch the positive

Authentic Engagement is Weather tested !!!

Whoever wants to go to Grey Co even on a sunny day and work for Mr.Bull -the bull-dog of a Manager? More so when you have a strong excuse ... the bus just didn't come, isn't it ? Authentic Engagement is time tested & gets reflected in the way people connect with concern &care in stressful moments. It is reflected in the genuine reciprocity by the leader. The positive dimensions of 'engaged' relationships at CEO John's Co. Is evident. It is based on the 3 Rs...Robustness - Rel

Your Executive Presence is critical to building your Brand....be 'SM-A-SH'

You are as successful as your brand is perceived in the segment it professionally operates. Whilst depth of subject knowledge and quality of professional experience will get recognised.....your 'Executive Presence' is your brand differentiator. To that end, my recommendation is be - 'SMASH' !!! SMart....Alert....SHarp. Everyone dreams to build a well recognised professional brand....the same way as who doesn't want a '6-pack' or a 'Size 0'. The problem is in the endeavour and

Cautious Speeding on the New-Track

Parachuted into a new organisation, the new manager has to be cautious but needs to certainly accelerate his up-so-speed learning. Cautious speeding and systematic re-seeding halts initial corporate bleeding. Taking over as a Manager in a new Company, is a different challenge. However great as an actor you may be, each role you play is different. There is a different story line, a different back script, even a different set of relationships between the configuration of diffe

Converting 'Convoluted Conversations' through 'Critical Conversations'...one at a ti

Revolutions are ignited one conversation at a time. One house-hold at a time. And it seriously will require, in my personal view, nothing short of an all-out conversational revolution to set-right and manage the deep seated rot of gender marginalization that has slowly set into the fabric of our Society, over centuries, one prejudice at a time. We have all experienced or atleast witnessed such 'Convoluted Conversations' day-in and day-out in our lives. Unfortunately, we have

Winds of today...prison of tomorrow!!

Behaviours we learnt today, will end up becoming traps for the Future. We are all creatures of patterns. We fly into a new zone and learn new patterns... soon we master these patterns and move on to a new zone where we learn new patterns.| Each one of us has our own tenacity to adopt change. Till that point we keep adapting and keep learning the new 'Patterns' in the new zones. After that, each one of us reaches that Sun-set zone where tenacity and will to change, is given u

Disengagement OR Disconnection!!!

Ever since I started coaching on Corporate Engagement, I have been using Jim Haudan's model. The prescription is simple...engaging your people in designing your strategy and involving them with a plan to execute that strategy catapults your business forward and creates an energized workforce. Chances of achieving desired results or fulfilling it's purpose are thence very high. Organistions fail to deliver because Leadership either is 'Disengaging' or it is 'Disconnecting'.
