1. Their People solutions do not have any business impact
2. Their Programs are not data-backed studious solutions that tackle the COs real problems but only cloned programs. They are more in the nature of imitated best practices followed in other COs.
3. Their people linkage is weak. They are not as closely connected with their employee clients as Sales are connected with the market Customers.
4. Their employee advocacy is very fragile.
5. They are not strategic. They are rigid policy interpreters.
People solutions need to align themselves to organisational vision/ mission/ objectives &down to individual functional action plans..
Cloned yes, but even if data based, more often than not, these are on histotical one’s rather that pro-active ones . While history can be the guide as to what is not right, the pro-active one’s are actionable to be relevant to present/ future business needs. specific to the needs of the organization .
There are broadly three parts of a business— Process, people & Market..Market will determine what to do, process & systems- How to do but mostt importantly ‘who to do’ will be the People.Hence unless all three are aligned business cannot succeed.
Employee advocacy includes developing employees into competent resources…
Ref Wonder Why HR managers?
1. Their People solutions do not have any business impact
( often possible and in many instances due to CEOs wanting preferred solutions rather than a contextual solution for the company's unique issues?)
2. Their Programs are not data-backed studious solutions that tackle the COs real problems but only cloned programs. They are more in the nature of imitated best practices followed in other COs.
( half the time, this is the easy path - cut and paste and copy the latest bright, shiny object in collusion between the CEO and HR!)
3. Their people linkage is weak. They are not as closely connected with their employee clients as Sales are connected with the market…
However, it would have been better to explain WHY HR heads are not in a position to do so, with your vast experience.
