Ambition is like an undiscovered pearl. Till it remains unfulfilled, there is total discomfiture.
Don't believe it ??? Ask a man with fulfilled ambition to narrate his story to you or still better , ask a man with unfulfilled ambition to explain his pain.
Kahlil Gibran narrates this plight best in his story - The Pearl.
Said one Oyster to a neighboring Oyster, " I have a very great pain within me. It is heavy and round and I am in distress."
And the other Oyster replied with haughty complacency,
"Praise be to the heavens and to the sea , I have no pain within me. I am well and whole both within and without."
At that moment a crab was passing by and heard the two Oysters , and he said to the one who was well and whole both within & without , " Yes, you are well and whole, but the pain that your neighbour bears is a pearl of exceeding beauty."
Unless you fulfill the dreams you authentically believe in, you will be restless, agitated, anxious and edgy.
Thus they say, Ambition recognizes no Age !
