Celebrating Makar Sankranti brings to mind the deeper messages behind our traditions. Often, the joy of festivities can overshadow the significance of the celebration. While indulging in delicious 'til ladoos' is a highlight, the essence of the festival is much more profound.

As the winter chill fades, we believe that the Gods awaken with the strengthening rays of the sun. This story, shared by my aunt, was my source of wisdom as a child—she was my go-to for answers, the 'Google' of my youth.

Colorful kites symbolize the connection between the sky and the earth, carrying our hopeful messages to the Gods. As we fly our kites, we send our aspirations for brighter days ahead. The act of flying a kite becomes a metaphor for life: sometimes we win, sometimes we lose, but the message we send is what truly matters.

In the corporate world, Makar Sankranti offers valuable lessons:

- Clarity of vision

- Mastering the art of execution

- Emphasizing clear goals

- Precise execution

- Reading the winds of change

- Continuous mindfulness for adaptation

- Avoiding excessive risk

- Securing the right support

- Steering clear of greed before loss

These insights provide a beautiful analogy for growth and learning.

For now, as the Gods awaken, let’s set aside the lessons and simply enjoy flying kites with friends and family, savoring til-gul, and sharing kind words.

Til-gul kha, godd godd bol !
