Let Trust Never Blind-sight

The changing world is disruptive, distractive and deceptive. People deceive people to protect themselves possibly from their insecurities or critically strategise their victory.
Wisdom lies in keeping the heart open while keeping the eyes awake. We cannot command the intentions of others, but we can question the promises we welcome and examine the trust we place in them.
Deception often enters through our own unexamined hopes—the desire for an easy answer, a comforting assurance, or someone willing to decide for us. To remain in charge of our well-being requires the courage to pause, to question, and, when necessary, to stand alone. Trust has its place; our judgment must remain our own.
This reflection finds a poignant echo in this Urdu verse:
“Khud ki khud
hifazat karna seekho,
Yeh daur parindon ka nahi,
darindon ka hai...
Har kisi ko
apna samajhne ki
bhool na karna.
Yahan logon ke
chehron par kuch aur,
dilon mein kuch aur hai.” —
(Anon)
Blind trust is important but that has to be suffeciently tested. Blind sighted trust leads to deception..
