Two neighboring domains - Control & Randomness are separated from each other without a strong 'LOC' - Line Of Control. Unless you are mindful, you would accidentally step into the prohibited enemy territories.
Organizational Leadership faces thus a constant challenge - knowing where to draw the line amidst uncertainty.
Nurtured on a 'self- conceited' belief that we control all success factors leads to consequential burnouts and other negative outcomes.
Random influences play a significant role, impacting results beyond managerial control.
Remember, the best efforts may not guarantee success if random unforeseen factors come into play. It's crucial to acknowledge past successes without overestimating our influence on outcomes. You will have to reconsider with the idea that your success in the past was not necessarily a part of your planned strategy , developed competencies, well planned capabilities, maniacal committment or flawless execution ! Serendipity played it's role and you cannot replicate it.
