Happiness is not a specific Station to arrive at but the joy of reaching the Destination you want to reach doing whatever you enjoy doing. Happiness, says Francois, is dependent on the taste and not on things. It is by having what we like that we become happy , not by having what others think desirable. Infact by having things that are socially desirable to others but not the things we like, we expend our valuable resources and also not enjoy it. That should actually make us very unhappy !!. True happiness arises from well regulated affections...and an affection includes a duty. Someone has rightly said that Success is a joirney not a destination. Happiness is to be found along the way, not at the end of the road...for by then the journey is over and it is just too late to be able to enjoy the fruits of it.
