Underprepared Spiderman!

Muttukumar Madboshi writes on my web-site .. "I was an identified 'HiPo' in an MNC, 8 years ago. 5 amongst the 25 MTs were designated - 'Fast Trackers' . After 2 early promotions, soon career got lock-jammed. I found myself on par with others who caught up, subsequently. Some even moved higher. No additional inputs or projects given to us. The FT Program design of the CO was nothing more than a few fast promotions. I felt cheated. I wasted my time believing in that program thus I left last year - hurt, depressed & disillusioned.". Sad, I say. Most organizations make the blunder of designing half-baked programs to manage their Fast-Trackers. A few program presentations, brochures, announcements etc do not really constitute a structured career fast-tracking program. In fact, I believe that unless talent 'Fast-Tracking' programs are backed by structured Coaching initiatives which support Deliberate Exposure & programmed Practise, it will only end up creating under-prepared leaders for future challenges. Do not ask the Spiderman to jump tall Skyscrapers until yr program teaches him to do so. Let me share a Kabir wisdom with you Muttukumar ..
