A Million Dollar Busyness - Theatrics Over Performance

Why should I feel nervous if my boss sees me on social media after 4 pm — when every critical task assigned to me has already been completed, accurately and on time?

Some workplaces have stopped measuring outcomes and started measuring appearances. Productivity is judged less by results and more by how “busy” people look. Does an executive need to walk past the common corridor stomping his feet on the floor at full speed in a dramatic publication of his busyness to his Boss and to his team ?

If work is delivered with quality, ownership, and accountability, then what exactly is the problem? Are organisations rewarding performance — or merely the theatre of busyness?

Ironically, companies celebrate efficiency, smart work, and innovation… until someone actually becomes efficient.

High-performance cultures are built on trust, accountability, and results — not fear-driven theatrics.

It’s wild how execs stomp down corridors to fake productivity instead of trusting results. This piece really nails the absurdity of fear-driven theatrics over actual efficiency. online fps test
