Leadership can sometimes be blinded by its own grandeur, making it unable to see the intricate web of deceit woven by sycophants.

Familiar phrases you may hear may include:

- "You are the most brilliant."

- "Isn't the company lucky to have you?"

- "Your true worth has yet to be recognized by others."

- "I owe my growth to you."

- "You are destined for greater things in your career."

- "You are a blessing to the company."

In addition, you may:

- Find yourself invited to all events.

- Have people connect with your family members and inform you.

- Receive gifts whenever they travel.

- Hear stories and gossips that may otherwise be kept from you.

- Be praised for your qualities and desired for guidance, necessary or unnecessary.

These are all tactics employed by sycophants, hoping you will fall for their flattery and schemes. As a leader, it is crucial to be cautious and not be misled. The sycophant's true focus is on your position, quietly plotting to take your place when the opportunity arises.

Do not ignore the signs of manipulation. Others are watching how you handle these situations and will judge your ability to navigate such challenges. Stay vigilant and maintain the trust of those who believe in your leadership.

Don't fiddle when sycophants whiddle. Be firm and reject their moves.
