I was addressing the young HPY students today — all in the 15–16 age cohort. We were discussing “Life Skills Beyond the Syllabus” that help people succeed in life.

In the course of the discussion, a young lady made a truly brilliant statement:

“Success is about monetizing your passion.”

Simply brilliant… especially coming from a 15-year-old.

Many young entrepreneurs themselves have not fully realised this fundamental truth. Real success often begins when you identify your passion, build a plan around it, and then work maniacally towards creating value from it — till that passion becomes sustainable and meaningful.

A close-to-home example would be Theobroma — where passion was transformed into enterprise and value creation.

Passion is an intense driving force — an overwhelming enthusiasm for a person, an idea, or an activity. But passion alone is not enough. It must be shaped with discipline, persistence, competence, and purpose until it creates impact.

If 15-year-olds can already think with such clarity and maturity, then I am a very happy man. Our future is truly in good hands.

Good luck HPYites for a bright future ahead.

And thank you, Diana Marfatia, for tirelessly nurturing young minds through this initiative for nearly four decades now. Always there to support you all. Give a shout whenever needed.

Ushta te — Happiness unto you.
