The distinction between wisdom and consistency is crucial in navigating situations effectively. Consistency often leads to rigid actions tepeatedly being taken based only on past practices, while wisdom allows for flexibility and adaptation to changing circumstances. It is the mark of wisdom to adjust decisions when necessary, considering new elements that may require a different course of action.

Leaders are expected to demonstrate situational maturity and discretion. The ability to exercise judgment and discretion in handling diverse situations is a key aspect of wise leadership. Failing to show discernment in situations, like penalizing employees for coming late to work the next day despite knowing that the associates had worked till rather late on a critical project the evening before without any reconpense reflects a failure of situational maturity and judicious discretion in leadership. The process and policy were consistently followed but the employee engagement and motivation totally lost due to indiscretio and absence of social maturity.

The Wise Dog : The Story By Kahlil Gibran's (..and it is Kahlil and not Khalil as most uninitiated believe)

One day there passed by a company yof cats, a wise dog.As he came near and saw

that they were very intent and heeded him not, he stopped.

Then there arose in the midst of the company a large, grave cat and looked upon them and said, "Brethren, pray ye; and when ye have prayed again and yet again, nothing doubting, verily then it shall rain mice."

And when the dog heard this he laughed in his heart and turned from them saying, "O blind and foolish cats, has it not been written and have I not known and my fathers before me, that that which raineth for prayer and faith and supplication is not mice but bones."

'The Wise Dog,' story reminds us of the importance of discerning between literal interpretations and symbolic truths. The tale emphasizes that true wisdom involves understanding beyond surface meanings and blind adherence to traditions. Wise leadership entails the ability to differentiate between the two and make informed decisions based on critical thinking.

In a world where blind faith can lead astray, embracing wisdom means embracing the capacity to see beyond the obvious and recognize the deeper truths that lie beneath the surface. Leaders who embody this distinction set the foundation for thoughtful and effective decision-making. .
