Toxic Self-entitlement

Self-entitlement is the biggest destroyer of progress. The simplest explanation of this behaviour is - expecting beyond deserving...

Self-entitlement has detrimental effects on both personal and professional growth. It hinders individuals from putting in the necessary work and best efforts to achieve their goals yet expecting the highest awards, acknowledgements and rewards. The performance graph slides downwards whilst the cost graph for rewards keeps rising. The trap of downward decline thus commences.

The toxic mindset of feeling inherently deserving can trigger harmful behaviors and attitudes within the organisation, often at the expense of others. Silo-wars, gossips, demotivation, impacted morale, absenteeism, aborted projects, attrition are a few illustrative signs of active Self-entitlement.

Greed, intertwined with entitlement, fuels the desire for undeserving wealth, power, or fame, often without supplementary merits to support.

Be mindful dear leader. Such damaging beliefs prevailing in teams needs to be curbed. Need to foster a more positive and equitable environment for all has to be encouraged. If not, the organisational DNA for silent but sure downfall is inevitable.
