Iconoclast

An inspiring leader has to be an iconoclast...a person who attacks cherished but unproven beliefs that hinder progress, crushes traditional

institutions that act only as rigid bulwarks to progress and who erases the hang-over of traditional process rituals without renewed validity.

Thus leadership needs courage to fight these strong cultural bastions that inhibit and limit organisational progress. Being a maverick is often times self- destructive. But if you are worried, don't be a leader!

Leadership is about painting a bright spot at the right place to motivate action in a dark setting.
